DATA PROTECTION FOR LAW FIRMS UNDER THE GDPR

ONLINE TRAINING

This all new course will ensure your staff understand their obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which is in force from May 2018.
The course covers the rules as they apply to law firms, including how they fit with your obligations under the SRA Code of Conduct. It poses real life dilemmas, and explains best practice.

For example it explains:

  • What is personal data, and sensitive personal data
  • The sanctions if you breach data protection rights
  • Your core obligations, including the new accountability principle
  • Practical scenarios on the things that arise in legal practice, such as issues with disclosure and due diligence, your duty to redact information, risks with paper files, and marketing
  • “Subject access requests” including how they can be used on behalf of clients
  • Data security issues

A quiz checks people have understood.
It is practical and succinct, and takes just over 30 minutes.
Suitable for both group and individual training.
Train everyone in your firm for just one subscription.
