The SRA publishes a “competence statement” to help solicitors to assess continuing professional development needs.

Compliance Courses

I.e. AML, Accounts Rules, Bribery, Code of Conduct, Conflicts, Data Protection & Information Security, Equality and Diversity & Unconscious Bias, Facilitating Tax Evasion
Note: the Health and Safety course is not relevant to continuing competence as a solicitor unless the subject matter is specifically relevant to your practice area.

A Ethics, professionalism and judgement

A1 Act honestly and with integrity, in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements and the SRA Handbook and Code of Conduct

Anti-Money Laundering
All fee earners module: 1 hour, including quiz.
AML for Property Lawyers 40 minutes.
All other modules: (refresher module, support staff module, modules for specialist practitioners doing private client, business, litigation work. 30 minutes.
Code of Conduct
Module 1:  OFR and the SRA Code of Conduct:(60 minutes if view the optional material on conflicts and confidentiality, and litigation.) 45 minutes.
Module 2:  Your Financial Obligations: 20 minutes.
Module 3:  Risk Management 20 minutes.
Anti-Bribery 45 minutes, including quiz.
Equality and Diversity
For those involved in management and recruitment 45 minutes, including quiz.
Module for other staff 30 minutes, including quiz.
Unconscious Bias 45 minutes, including quiz.
Conflicts of Interest 50 minutes including quiz.
Data Protection under GDPR 40 minutes including quiz.
Information Security 30 minutes including quiz.
CQS mandatory training – per course 75 minutes including quiz.
Facilitating Tax Evasion 20 minutes.
Health and Safety 40 minutes to do all three modules.
SRA Accounts Rules 1 hour including quiz.
Brush Up Your Law Courses 1 hour 30 minutes or 2 hours per course.
The courses on Contract, Corporate and Commercial Property take 2 hours.
Those on Civil Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Acquisitions, Employment, Finance and Corporate Insolvency take 1.5 hours.
The Brush Up courses are accredited by the SRA as PSC electives. Reference DDS/SOCR.
