The new rules on helping clients with their insurance needs (e.g. title insurance) came into force on 1 October.
We have sent subscribers a bulletin to help them comply. That included a template of the information you have to provide to clients when you organise insurance for them.
The SRA tell us that you have to comply with the rules even if you use an insurance broker to actually make the arrangements. So even if a broker does the heavy lifting, you will still need to appoint an “Insurance Distribution Officer” and give clients the prescribed information.
