Our case against the Law Society has now been heard by the Competition Appeal Tribunal, chaired by Roth J. The four-day trial ended on 11 November. Judgement has been reserved.
We are seeking to restore the right of over 3000 law firms in the Conveyancing Quality Scheme to buy the training they want. Currently the Law Society orders these firms to buy training from itself on subjects including legal updates, compliance updates and “financial crime”.
It has been a stressful and demanding process getting this case to trial. Everyone at Socrates is most grateful for the many messages of goodwill and support we have received.
